Health is such a journey! I remember when I first started my journey into “skinny”. It was a series of counting every calorie and torturing myself at the gym. It took a picture of me as skeletor and a realization that my goal of “skinny” was really a journey for me to find “happiness”. It took a few moments to realize my journey was about finding what was inside me all along. Fitness and health isn’t just about getting a six pack. Fitness is about having a full life that makes you excited to wake up in the morning! If you don’t have that at this moment, don’t fret. It has taken me a long time.
Health looks like balance and harmony among all the things that are important to you. Health might look different for you but to find balance you must address these areas of your life.
Your Personal Fulfillment
To have a life that you are excited about you must have something in your life that fulfills you. I’ve been there where every day just seemed not to matter. Every day was just ordinary existence. Something switches when you find joy in what you do day to day. I’m not saying you must have a dream joy to have a fulfilling healthy balanced life.What it does mean is something in your life fulfills you. I have a friend who has job that they consider “okay”, but loves to race triathlons wth his whole heart. That’s fulfillment! I have a client who only works at her law firm but it is her joy. That’s fulfillment. I have another client who loves vacationing with her family. Life is worth being extraordinary. And that makes every day worth getting up for.
It’s hard to see past fear and scarcity if money is always in the way. Its good to work hard, but its important to play hard too and that takes money. As you put together your dreams and goals, get that you must set yourself up to win. Put in place a plan for your finances that is practical and fulfilling.
Love of self
Before you can give yourself to anyone else, you must first find that love with in you. You are perfect and complete just as you are. Give yourself the gift of treating yourself like someone you love! Sometimes it means saying no. And sometimes its the courage to say YES!
Last by not least you must remember that you aren’t living on an island all by yourself. We need each other for growth, for companionship and for connection. Don’t forget to address your social health as you step into fall.
Notice I left the body for last. It’s important but it isn’t everything. The way you treat your body shows up in every other part of your life. Look at how that’s true for you. If you ignore this aspect of you, what else do you ignore. Get yourself active and moving and watch every other aspect of health improve. Do it with a buddy and enjoy every single day you get to experience!
